Chithu coirs are widely known as leading white coir manufacturers in India. Our white coirs are harvested from coconuts even before they ripen and are extensively used for making ropes, carpets, and mats. As white coirs are in high demand, we ensure the parameters of white coir are thoroughly checked and exported internationally. Chithu coirs focus more on the production of white coir, which comprises around 80% of our total production.
White fiber is made from young coconut husks that have been soaked in water for a maximum of ten months. The plant tissues surrounding the fibers are broken up by micro-organisms, thereby loosening them. This process is called getting. Once it has been loosened, the segments are then beaten by hand to separate the fibers before being cleaned and dried. After it has been cleaned, it can then be spun into yarn.
